Announcing DDC Support for Apple Silicon Macs

DisplayBuddy now supports DDC on Apple Silicon Macs

Glad to announce we just shipped a major update to DisplayBuddy (v1.12) that brings DDC support for Apple Silicon (M1) Macs!

  • 🖥 You’ll now have direct control of brightness and contrast, including support for switching display inputs on the M1 Macbook Air, Macbook Pro, iMac and Mac Mini (with the exception of the HDMI port on M1 Mac Mini)!

  • 🔊 You can now control volume of external displays on Apple Silicon Macs - one of the most requested features!

And here’s a recap of the features that shipped in some of the previous updates:

  • 🍎 Support for Apple displays (Pro Display XDR, Thunderbolt Display, iMac and more).

  • 🔄 Sync controls across multiple displays.

  • 💾 Use more than 4 presets and ability to edit them.

  • 🎮 Change the input source (HDMI, DisplayPort, Thunderbolt, USB-C, etc) of your display.

  • ⌨️ Ability to set custom Keyboard shortcuts (including the brightness keys).

To get the update, open DisplayBuddy, click the bottom right settings icon and click “Check for Updates”. I’ll be working hard to bring you the next 10 updates to DisplayBuddy! 🍻
