DisplayBuddy requires a license key to be activated and used on your Mac. You get a unique license code (something like XXXX-XXXXXX-XX-XXXXXXXX) when you make a purchase, and the code will be sent to the email that you used during your purchase. To find your license key, search for "DisplayBuddy" in your email inbox. You can also try searching for an email from "Gumroad", or "LemonSqueezy" (the partners we use to process your payment for DisplayBuddy) to find your license key. If you still can't find it, please email our support and we'll find it for you.

DisplayBuddy has different types of licenses with different limits on how many Macs they can be used on. If you wish to reset your license (for example you've bought and moved to a new Mac), you can easily do so. How you reset your licenses depends on when you purchased DisplayBuddy (you can find your purchase date by searching your email for "DisplayBuddy" / "Gumroad" / "LemonSqueezy".

Purchased after Oct 2023 (LemonSqueezy)

If you purchased DisplayBuddy after October 2023, you'll have an email from LemonSqueezy about your DisplayBuddy purchase in your purchase email inbox. You can manage and reset your license using the LemonSqueezy Orders Manager:

1. 1. Go to the LemonSqueezy orders page at http://app.lemonsqueezy.com/my-orders
2. 2. Enter the email you used for your DisplayBuddy purchase.
3. 3. Check your email for a sign in link from LemonSqueezy and open that link.
4. 4. The page that opens should look like the one in the video below.
5. 5. Select DisplayBuddy in the left pane.
6. 6. Notice the licenses section in the right pane, and click on the license key you want to reset.
7. 7. In the "Activations" section, click "Deactivate" on the license instance you want to reset.

You're done! You can use your license key again once you reset it. If you need any help, please email our support and we'll be glad to help.

Purchased before Oct 2023 (Gumroad)

If you purchased DisplayBuddy before October 2023, you'll have an email from Gumroad about your DisplayBuddy purchase in your purchase email inbox. You can reset and manage your license using the DisplayBuddy License Manager. Just enter the email you used for your purchase, and your license key. Then press reset license to reset your license.

Please note that if your purchase was refunded, your license key will not work. Also, resetting the license will revoke access to DisplayBuddy on all your Macs - but of course you can activate them again subject to your license's max limit of Macs.
