Sync

Adjust all displays together in perfect harmony

Getting Started with Sync

If you have multiple displays, Sync helps them stay perfectly in tune.
When Sync is turned on, changing brightness, contrast, or volume on one display automatically adjusts the others — no need to move sliders one by one.

What It Does

When you activate Sync, one display becomes the Host, and the others become Followers.

Any change you make on the host (like brightness or contrast) is mirrored to the follower displays. This works when using keyboard shortcuts as well.

When sync is active, settings for the follower can still be controlled manually. However, if settings for the host display are changed, the followers will still be affected.

Sync only follows settings that the host display supports.
For example, if the host can only control brightness, but the follower supports brightness, contrast, and volume — only brightness will be synced.

Uses
  • Consistent brightness across all displays while working.
  • Simpler control when using a MacBook with external monitors — just adjust one screen.
  • Automatic matching for color-sensitive or productivity setups.
Offsets

Not all displays are created equal — 100% brightness on one might look like 70% on another.
That’s where Offsets come in.

Offsets let you fine-tune how much each follower adjusts relative to the host.

Example

If your MacBook Pro’s brightness at 100% is too bright compared to your external monitor, you can set an offset for your MacBook display so that when the external monitor is at 100%, your MacBook display goes to only 70%.

This way, both displays look equally bright, even if the actual brightness values differ.

Activating Sync
Using the Main UI

Open DisplayBuddy and click Sync — your active display becomes the host, and the rest will follow.

Using Presets

You can also include Sync in any Preset.
When you activate that preset (via the app, a shortcut, or a schedule), Sync turns on automatically.

Using Keyboard Shortcuts

If you’ve created a preset that enables Sync, you can trigger it instantly with a keyboard shortcut for that preset.

You can set custom keyboard shorcuts for presets under Settings → Preferences → Keyboard Shortcuts.

Disabling Sync

Click Sync again in the main UI to turn it off.
Your displays will return to independent control, keeping their current settings.

With Sync, your displays move together — saving time, keeping brightness consistent, and making your workspace feel like one seamless screen.
